何谓仁爱 ：至少两个人的互动才会有仁爱。

何谓恭敬 : 对人的态度要恭敬。不要老绷着脸。

何谓宽容 ：对人要有宽容的心。不要计仇，不要斤斤计较。

何谓信任：让人对你信任，不要亏空。

何谓敏锐 ：做事要观察入微，对小小的变化都能够察觉。

何谓恩惠 ：要有感恩之心，不要过河抽板。忘恩负义。

The above teaching is a summary from Yu Dan's elaboration on confucious teaching which I think is very useful for our current and future generations.

Mahathirism a.k.a. Racism

Malaysia longest serving premier is one that I used to respect because of his policies and successes in governing the country.

However, my little respect to him ended few days ago when he commented that Malaysian Chinese had taken away the little resources that the Malays has and had resulted the country 's National Economic Policy - NEP (that aimed to achieved 30% Bumiputras equity by year 2000) gone down to the drain after more than 39 years of implementation.

I felt ashamed on him being the ex-premier of Malaysian and with his statement, I dare to conclude that he had misused Malaysian trust on him and I guess during his tenor as PM, he could have tried everything that could prevent the non malay from achieving their political/economy objectives.

Based on his thought, I conclude that whatever that exist in this country are belongs to the Malays and when the non Malays get something from this country, it was the sacrifices made by the malay.

For what I know, he has been always the champion of the Malay rights ever since he retired as PM. However, just be concious, how many malays are benefited from the so call NEP. Its only UMNO cronies benefited from NEP.

The malay stays the rural or suburb area doesn't benefited from NEP that suppose to distribute equally the wealth of this country amongst the Malaysian. In contrary, most of the wealth had gone into his cronies pocket.

Fortunately he had stepped down since 2001 before he could demonise the pity Malaysian. Its is lucky as well, as not all the Malays subscribe to his taught. The Malay are now be able to analyse and identify their own problems. They start to realised that what UMNO championed doesn't really benefits them for the past 39 years and they would rather opted for a polictical change rather than be with rotten UMNO/BN goverment.

UMNO is just a machinery used by the politicion to implement/achieve what they like and NEW is a shield for them that prevent them to get expose. They can mobilised the country's resources as they like in the name of NEP/Malay including giving out of APs to cronies (with the objective of enhacing bumiputra unvolvement in the auto trading industry), quotas for the admittance to public varsities, awarding of contracts to malay contractors, etc etc.

At last, those benefited from the NEP are a very small fraction of UMNO politicians/goons and those who suffer are still Malay themselves because naturally they are economically weak due to the nature of their thinking that always prefer to live in a moderate way.

Mahathir vision to create racial hatred tamosphere will not get his way as peoples already bored with his dirty tactics in playing racial cards; his divisive approach to weaken the political parties amongst the BN component parties had seen successful all this while but his evil mind in making this country a failure will not come true.

JUSTICE MY FOOT 2009

I remember there is a Hong Kong film starred by Stephen Chow by the name of JMF.

The storyline is something like if you have done something wrong or being accused to have done something wrong, and if you do not have connection with the government official, there will be no justice for you even though you are innocent.

At that time, Stephen is a lowest grade justice during the time and whilst disharging his duties, he came across a criminal case where a son of one top government official negligently killed somebody else and he was bribed to cover the incidents. He went through various obstacle to overcome the challenges in order to uphold the justice for the victim as well as the families.

Stephen was lucky as he managed to make use of the emperor's influence to upheld the justice for peoples.

However, this will not happen in the real world now. Take the recent case of Teoh Beng Hock as example.

The police is covering up for the MACC, they try to let MACC have more time to destroy their evidence. They only asked for the MACC cctv recording in their office 3 days after the incidents.

In this case, it is clearly MACC should have bear their part of responsibility as they are the last person to have seen TBH after the cruel questioning session that end in the mid night.

I do not think MACC is so kind to have allowed a witness to rest or "sleep" at the premises especially after that wee hours.

I don't think TBH also wanted to stay for even a second longer in that office no matter how tired he is.

What is clear in this context is that there is a hidden hands behind this case. The government is trying to fabricate or destroy the bad evidence as a damage control measure. This is to minimise the effect on Najib's 1Malaysia plans as well as to curtail any drop in Najib's approval rating.

At the end of the days, TBH was concluded as jumping from the MACC building as he might be classified a unable to take pressure after long hours questioning by the MACC morons. No body should have to responsible for his dead as there is no foul play found in the evidence. MACC should have take more precautionary actions to prevent witnesses for doing the same thing and business as usual.

Nobody will be prosecuted and after a while people will forget the whole incidents... This is Justice , your opinion pls..

"JOKES" of the day

An established Japanese firm would like to improve its image and decided to undertake a corporate rebranding excercise.

To save cost, the CEO, who runs the company as if he own the company, decided to make use of the middle management staff by gathering them for a brainstorming session.

As the staffs is not good in that, after having a couple of sessions unable to come out with any idea but is conflicting with each others.

At last, the chairman decided to faced with the reality and draw a big "O" on a paper. To him, the Big "O" is zero idea.

Intended to tells the boss that they achieved nothing by presenting the "O", the boss surprisingly concur the "O" idea before the chairman says anything.

WHY ?

This is what the boss want and expected, Bacause, what the boss main agenda is to adopt what ever idea presented by the brainstorming group and therefore company would have some expenditure.

With that idea, the boss approaches an advertising firm to improvise the "O" idea and at the end of the day the firm pay the advertising firm USD 300K for their service.

The new corporate branding idea is then launch within the group of companies and distributions of a new leaflets / brochures...

Thats it.

Traits of good CEO

Today I read an article about CEO as well and amongst the traits of good CEO are :-

Desire and energy

A successful CEO must have the desire or will to achieve, the energy, and the intellect.

“The desire to achieve actually describes the passion in any good leader,”

“The second, energy, describes his lasting capability. Too many so-called leaders fail because they give up too easily.

“The third — intellect — has very little to do with a university degree. Some of our best entrepreneurial forefathers did not have the opportunity to go to university, but have succeeded because they are very intelligent people.”

Makes tough calls

The CEO must dare to make decisions, especially the hard ones, whether they concern layoffs or pay cuts, or other difficult strategic decisions.

When making the tough calls, he must also have the ability to communicate his decision appropriately.

“Compassion isn't often a term associated with the most successful global CEOs, and they are paid to make the right commercial decisions for the welfare of the organisation and its shareholders,” said Guy Day, managing director at recruitment agency Ambition.

“That said, CEOs don't always need to be ruthless, and the manner in which difficult decisions are communicated, particularly around job cuts, can make a real difference.”

Tim Hird, managing director of human resource consultancy Robert Half International, said that not only do CEOs need to communicate, but they also need to do so consistently and sincerely.

Integrity

Leader with integrity are consistent, willing to trust others, and care about their employees' well-being.

These leaders are honest and transparent in a way that allows others to understand not only their decisions, but also the reasoning behind them.

Moreover, when they make big decisions, they hold themselves accountable for them, said Leon Perera, group managing director of Spire Research and Consultancy.

Gina McLellan, Singapore country manager of search firm Hudson, said a CEO should commit to “conducting himself with the highest standards of ethics and integrity which will inspire people's confidence and trust”.

Bill George, retired CEO of medical technologies provider Medtronic, once termed traits such as integrity and character “authentic leadership”.

Simply put, this is the quiet kind of charisma that puts a sense of values and purpose ahead of magazine covers.

Vision and strategy

The CEO must have a dream, a mission, a strategic intent, a vision and he must be able to articulate that vision.

“In the political sphere, (former United States presidents) John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and our very own Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew were masters of the art of communication,” Tan said.

Day said many CEOs are focused on short-term profitability and cash flow, both of which are critical.

But a successful CEO, he added, also needs to communicate to the organisation that there is a “clear plan” to where the business is headed, and despite the challenges in the economy, that path is broadly being followed.

Along my 13 years employment in my company, I have made some observation and conclusion about a good leadership in an organisation.

To summarise it, a good leader shouldn't have the following traits:-

a) Selfish
b) Self centred
c) Calculative
d) Autocratic
e) Lack of self confidence
f) Power Crazy
g) Indecisive
h) I can but You can't attitude
i) "You can't better than me"

A good leader must not let the staffs to ask the the following question and must have the answers in advance instead :-

a) When and where is my increment/bonus payment
b) When is the promotion list going to come out.
c) When can I get the my new company car when the car is due for change for almost a year ago.
d) Why is that Mr. So and So resigned some time ago can resumed the same position when he returned and contribute nothing to the company and even failed in the company special/pilot project.
f) Why did an incompetence overseas company could get a lucrative multi millions project in the company and we all have to be at the mercy of them.

The D-day for the Dwi- Menteri Besar

Tomorrow will be the D-day for Nizar and Zambry as the Court of Appeal will decide who will be the menteri besar of Perak. Who is the legitimate one.

These are the wishlist of a few stake holders :-

i) BN supporter - Zambry Win - more contract for the cronies

ii) PR Supporters- Nizar Win

iii) General Public - Nizar Win- Becasue they like their face so much, Tok Jangut

iv) The three frogs ( who jumped ship to become independent ) - Zambry Win - can keep their seats and drive Camry ( oh nope , now Zambry want Perdana, but he use Harrier )

v) Najib - Zambry win - so that he can save his face, his face is red enough.

vi) Gerakan - Nizar win ( say in their heart) - busy drafting KPI = Nonsense

vii) MCA - Dato OTK - No comments (He suddently became speechless nowadays - busy finding new CSL sex tape to topple him out or cracking head with Lee Hwa Beng why the PKFZ report cannot make public, or busy find way to persuade JPA head on the appeal of the TOP students)

viii) MIC - Semi Value - Kita belum tahu lagi apa boleh terjadi, mungkin kita tunggu Najib punya instruction sebelum buka mulut. Oops Jambatan Kepong retak lagi kah ?

ix) PPP - Pulangkan Taiping saya baru saya mahu komen, kalau tidak semua tak usah bincang !

x) TDM - Apanama.....Zambry Win - so that he can do more blogging ( I notice his blogs receive lesser comment nowadays )

The May 13

Today is the 4oth anniversary of the May 13 incident that haunted the Malaysian especially the non malay where ethnic clash happened.

I was not even born that time but I heard quite a number of story telling about this incident.

"There was an election just concluded in prior day and the non malay dominance party won the race. They rallied in the street of KL to celebrate their victory and during the rally, there is a clash with another party that loss in the election that was malay dominance"

Malaysian history never taught about that incident and what I have heard is true or not is also in doubt.

However, I notice that for 40 years, Malaysian tried to avoid this issue as it is a "Black Mark" in our history.

I understand that it was due to the May 13 incidents, NEP was introduced by the then Tun Abdul Razak and it implemented until today.

I wonder what is the co-relation between NEP and May 13 as our socio-economy structure remained the same. Those rich one become richer and the poor one become poorer regardless of the ethnic. Those who benefited is the one close to the politician.

Malaysian should stand up and fight for the "true equality" rather than ethnic discrimination. Poor malaysian should be given assistance and the government should distribute equaly all the wealth of Malaysia to the poor. Not all Malay are poor and not all non malay are rich. However, the "small Napolean" in the government administration treat the non malay the different way.

The Silver State

Today I want to talk about Perak ( silver)

Some 2-3 months ago, this northern state of Malaysia staged a dramatic political tussle between the ruling people alliance ( PR) and opposition national front ( BN ).

By allowing 3 of the Ex-PR's assemblyman to show their support for BN, the sultan of perak allow BN to take over the state government and refused request for dissolution of the state assembly as well. The sultan then appoint a new chief minister in replacing the incumbent.

This is said to have created a chains constitutional crisis that is expected to settle soon.

My personal feeling is that:-

i) What is happening here is part of the route toward the demise of BN government in the coming GE 13
ii) the judiciary system is extra ordinary flawed in Malaysia where courts and judges is being used as a tools for achieving all the political agenda of BN.
iii) The public servant including the police also whom is supposed not to align to any party was used to achieve their objectives.
iv) The people of silver state will eventually planted with hatred feeling that will- eventually turn into "people power" and over throw the unwanted state government.
v) the respect to the sultan by its people will be faded being acted against the will of perakian or Malaysian.

Sick

The whole last weekend spoiled and I end up have to take MC for the Monday as well.

During this period, I only know how important to keep one healthy in order to have a happy life.

If you are sick, you have one million also useless because the money won't make you recover instantly, moreover money cannot make the incurable sickness cured.

Please preserve a healthy lifestyle and remember a Chinese proverb " sickness is always caused by your eating habit"

Eat less and exercises more is the key to a healthy lifestyle. But how many people will follow when they were served with delicious food in front of them...Especially in our countries where we have all the main local delicacies from 3 different ethnics i.e. Malay, India and Chinese.

Conversion

Today's The Sun Headline is long waiting one, its about Conversion of religion in Malaysia. Its titled, " End to child conversion" means one child faith is to be remained at the time of parent's marriage.

I am thinking why Malaysia government took such as long time to settle such a simple issue.

In this issue, we must go back to the basic i.e. so long as anyone do not have any faith on his current religion, it is free for him/her to convert. But this do not apply to Muslim as no conversion are allowed for Muslim in Malaysia.

The government is moving in the right direction in clearing the air but what I am worry is that all the related parties do not follow the instruction especially those religion workers.

"Che Det" - The yes and no man

I believe when you see the title you would have know what I want to say about this old man

He is the premier of Malaysia from 1981-2003. He is so energetic yet so powerful when he successfully toppled his handpicked successor after stepping down in 2003.

I want to pass my personal comments on him today.

- I salute him for the fast action take in stopping the economic turmoil that hit Malaysia and successfully brought us out from the 1997 Asia financial crisis.

- During his tenor as PM, he managed to planned & implemented many mega infrastructure projects such as the Penang Bridge, KLIA airport, The KLCC, The Putrajaya and as well as the iconic Privatise Highway.

- He managed to wash hand in the Highway concession issue by simply citing his incompetence ministers/staffs who signed all the lopsided agreements that eventually makes the people "highway slave"

- During his tenor as premier also, he started the national car projects that make all the Malaysian suffers. Malaysian forced to pay extra price to buy an incompetence, quality compromised car. I am once the victim as well.

- It is during his time, the corruption runs high. However he was shield under regional and world economy booming period. Unlike his immediate successor whom are not so lucky, the moment he took over the helm from him, the treasury are basically empty, he has to bear his blunder that accumulated for 22 years.

- He is very forgetful guy as well, he tend to forgot the bad things he did and very good in remembering what he had done good. Sometimes even things happened during his childhood, he also can recalled clearly. The most iconic event is when he testify in the "Lingam Tape" that look like him sounds like him and is not him.

- He tend to flip-flop as well. When he accused Tun Abdullah flip-flopping, he did the same thing. The most memorable one is that he said he wouldn't immulate Lee Kuan Yew who retired as PM as singapore and continues to served as a senior minister. However, he is worst. He continues to sabotage his own party until the the collapse of ruling party 2/3 majority in the parliament. Najib should thank him and thats why his son was appointed deputy minister in return even though the son lost in the youth chief race.

Hamster and my wife

I want to take a moment to write about this today.

My brother gave me a pair of hamster couple of months ago. My wife name the whity and Blacky.

My wife and I took about a month or so to familiarise with this animal and its funny to play with it as they basically eat-play-sleep-eat-play-sleep.... every day.

I bought them a new cage and some accessories to make them comfortable.

One fine day, when I finished my routine cleaning jobs for the cage, I decided to let them have a "sun bath" - so as to sterilised the cage as well or to kill the germs as they have been "hiding" inside the house all along.

Unfortunately, I left them under the hot sun for too long while I am enjoying a movie in that hot sunday afternoon and the hamster was eventually "tortured" by me and died.

We tried to revived and save the hamsters but failed. My wife look like going to cry but she tried not to show her dissapointment about what is happening.

It was a sad weekend though the hamsters only have been with us for a very short period and we decided to buried them at our backyard.

I felt so sorry for that as she love and cared about them so much.

I want to say " I am sorry for that, My dear "

The New Proton Exora MPV

Today I have an opportunity to sit into a brand new proton exora at one of the Proton showroom at Worldwide Business Centre, Shah Alam during a working trip. I was offered to have the car a test drive. However due to time constrains. I do not be able to make it.

However, I have an opportunity to ignite the engine and it feel like you are igniting a Japanese made car. I believe if you do not look at the badge, you will not believe that the car is Made in Malaysia. Great outlook and sufficient features and affordable price.

Though there are some features that seems like imitating its competitors but to be good in imitating it is not easy as well. I think when Japanese or Korean started to manufacture their cars, they do the same things as well. Thumbs up to the new proton management and it seems like there are apparent improvement in the design, quality and cost efficiency in this new car.

The improvement though is coming a bit late but at least there is an awareness by the new management to embrace changes. Keep up the good jobs !!!

I sincerely hope that proton will excel in the coming models and improve its management efficiency in the near future. They can subscribe to the Japanese culture namely "Continuous Improvement" as their tag line.

The Malaysian Political Scene - As hot as "Chili Padi"

Since the GE 12, the Malaysia political scene has not been seen settle down.

I think that is a process of reforms, thanks to our Tun Abdullah. Though he was criticised of his lackluster performance and his "tidak apa" attitude. But he did some good things as well. He allowed the media to have a greater room of discussion in the media and allowed criticism to take place. Unlike his predecessor, whom blocked most of the channels. I personally think that Tun Abdullah should be awarded as " Father of Democracy" and rank after Tunku Abdul Rahman.

Here are some meaningful and unforgettable milestone after the GE12.

- Setting up of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) alliance that governs 5 states.
- The Anwar Ibrahim sodomy charge.
- Fiasco over the taking over of federal government on 19 Sept 2008.
- Appointment of Non Bumi deputy chief minister.
- The rising of Mohamad Nizar as "All Perakian" chief minister.
- Free water policy at Selangor.
- Land grant to Chinese independent school at Perak.
- Losing battle of 4 out of 5 by elections
- Power wrist at Perak btw BN and PR
- The falling of Tun Abdullah
- The appoinment of Najib as new PM
- The 1Malaysia concept that invites so much interpretation.

I reckoned that though the political scene is some how in turbulence state but its is good for our future generation as it shape up the 2 party system for malaysia in the future.
